Travis Goad
Founder and CEO of Notecrest Capital

Chief Executive Officer
Travis has spent 20 years building credit and finance infrastructure across distressed debt, commercial real estate, private credit funds and small-business lending, and now applies that institutional discipline to the secondary market for seller-financed business notes.
20 years in credit and private debt finance
Travis is a seasoned credit and finance professional. He has executed more than $1 billion in transactions across capital markets and private credit fund platforms, with work spanning loan origination, secondary trading, portfolio acquisitions and fund-level capital formation.
Before founding Notecrest Capital, Travis was Managing Partner at Pelorus Capital Group, where he was instrumental in growing the firm’s debt fund from $20 million in assets under management to over $400 million. At Pelorus he pioneered many of the early capital markets programs in the cannabis lending space, structuring credit facilities for an industry that mainstream lenders had largely declined to underwrite. The Pelorus Fund returned a life-to-date IRR of more than 13% during his tenure.6
Earlier in his career, at MKP Capital Management, Travis oversaw a diversified portfolio of real estate credit investments. The fund management experience at Pelorus and the institutional credit work at MKP shaped the underwriting discipline he now applies to every business note acquisition at Notecrest Capital.
Why Travis founded Notecrest Capital
Travis founded Notecrest Capital to bring institutional credit infrastructure to the seller-financed small business note, an asset class that has long belonged to fragmented buyers and inconsistent execution. When a small business is sold and the buyer cannot secure full bank financing, the seller commonly carries paper to bridge the gap. Those promissory notes, $40 billion of them outstanding at any given time, sit on the personal balance sheets of business owners who rarely set out to become long-term lenders.
Notecrest Capital exists to give those note holders a clear exit, and to give accredited investors a structured, diversified way into the asset class. Travis leads fund operations, capital markets and the underwriting framework; Abby Shemesh, Head of Acquisitions, leads sourcing and seller engagement.
